Every step has an On exception setting that decides what happens when the step fails (for example the WhatsApp message is rejected or the contact has no email address):
| On exception | What happens |
|---|---|
| Stop workflow and keep current state (default) | The run stops on this step with status Failed. You can fix the cause and retry it from this step (11.32). |
| Go to next step | The failure is logged as skipped and the run continues with the step this one connects to. |
Use Go to next step only when the rest of the flow still makes sense without this step. A typical case is a "nice to have" tag.
Automatic stop: each failed run increases the workflow’s failure streak, and each completed run resets it. When the streak reaches Stop after consecutive failures (default 3), the workflow is stopped. The designer then shows a Workflow Health box with the streak and the reason. Fix the cause, then save and publish a fixed version to bring it back online. While the streak is above zero but below the limit, the health shows Broken.
