# 9.6 WhatsApp Usage & Costs

## What This Feature Does

Shows your tenant's estimated WhatsApp message volume and cost for a given month, broken down by template category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication).

## When to Use

- Use to understand roughly what your WhatsApp usage is costing before the Meta invoice arrives.
- Use to spot which template category is driving the most volume.

## Prerequisites

- CompanyAdmin role.
- At least one WhatsApp message sent in the selected month to see any figures.

## Step-by-Step Instructions

1. In the sidebar, click **WhatsApp** → **Usage & Costs**.
2. Use the **Month** dropdown to pick any of the last 12 months.
3. Review **Total messages** and **Estimated cost** at the top, and the **By category** breakdown table below.

## What You See

- **Total messages** and **Estimated cost** (with currency) for the selected month.
- A per-category table: message count and estimated cost for each of Marketing, Utility, and Authentication.
- If no rate card is configured for a category, its cost shows as **"No rate card configured"** / "—" instead of a number.

> **Important:** These figures are an **estimate for visibility only**. Under the Meta Tech Provider model, Meta bills your own attached payment method directly for WhatsApp messaging — this page does not generate an invoice, does not charge you, and is not a substitute for Meta's own billing records. Per-message pricing used for the estimate is maintained by a SysAdmin-managed platform-wide rate card, not by your tenant — contact support if a category's estimated cost looks clearly wrong.

## Best Practices

- Use this page to spot trends month over month rather than as an exact cost reconciliation tool.
- Cross-check against your Meta Business Manager billing if you need an authoritative invoice figure.
