# 15a.3 Competitors

Open a card's **More actions** menu and click **Competitors**. Only **approved** competitors are analysed and used as your benchmark.

- **Discovered — waiting for your review**: accounts the analyst found. Each shows where it came from (**From your seed list**, **Suggested by the analyst**, **Found via hashtag**) and a **Fit** score based on engagement, how recently it posted and audience size. The score is a ranking hint, not a verdict. Click **Track** to approve, or **Exclude**.
- **Approved — analysed every run**: your benchmark set. Your plan sets how many each account can have.
- **Excluded**: never suggested again, however often they turn up.
- **Add a competitor by handle**: type a handle and click **Add**. It goes straight onto your approved list. It is checked on the next run, and the row is flagged if the account cannot be read (for example, it is private or not a business account).

**Platform limits that apply to everyone:**

- **Instagram**: competitor analysis works for public business and creator accounts. Automatic discovery uses your seed list and the analyst's suggestions; hashtag search is used when it is available for your account.
- **Facebook**: automatic discovery does not run. Add competitor Pages by hand. Reading other Pages needs a Meta permission that is still under review, so their posts are analysed only once it is available.
- **LinkedIn**: LinkedIn does not let apps read other companies' Pages, so there are no competitors. The report compares your own formats, topics and timing instead.

Competitor figures come from public data only, with no reach, saves or demographics. That is why every comparison is made on engagement relative to followers.
