# 11.30 Manually Trigger a Workflow

1. On the **Workflow List**, click **Trigger now** (lightning icon).
2. In **Contact**, search by name, WhatsApp number or email and pick the contact. Only contacts you have access to are listed.
3. Optionally enter a version ID to test an unpublished version. Leave it empty to use the published version.
4. Confirm. A new run starts for that contact right away.

**Good to know:**

- A manual run has no inbound message, so **Message Matches** is always FALSE and **Unsubscribe** with **Trigger Channel** fails. To test an auto-reply, send the real message from your own phone instead.
- Plain-text WhatsApp steps only succeed if that contact wrote to your number in the last 24 hours.
