# 17. Notifications

## What This Feature Does

The Notification Center shows alerts for events relevant to you: new WhatsApp messages, email replies, campaign completions, workflow failures, and more.

## When to Use

- Use it as your first stop for time-sensitive updates.
- Use it to jump directly into the affected conversation, campaign, or workflow.
- Do not use it as a replacement for the full module history when you need detailed operational context.

## Permission & Access Control

| Action | CompanyAdmin | TenantUser |
| --- | --- | --- |
| View own notifications | ✅ | ✅ |
| Mark read or delete own notifications | ✅ | ✅ |
| View another user's notifications | ❌ | ❌ |

## How to Access

- Click the **Notification Bell** (🔔) in the top navigation bar to open the **Notification Panel** dropdown.
- Click **All Notifications** to open the full notification history page.

## What You See

- **Unread count** badge on the bell icon.
- Recent notifications in the dropdown panel.
- Full list with filtering on the All Notifications page.

## Notification Types

| Type | When It Appears |
| --- | --- |
| New WhatsApp message | A contact sends you a WhatsApp message |
| New email received | A new email arrives in your assigned Reply-To Mailbox |
| Campaign completed | A broadcast finishes sending |
| Workflow failed | An automation step encountered an error |
| Template approved/rejected | Meta updates a WhatsApp template status |
| LinkedIn comment or mention | Someone comments on, or mentions, one of your connected LinkedIn Company Pages; shown to company administrators and users who manage LinkedIn posts |
| Social post published / failed | A queued Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn post went live, or could not be published |
| Reconnect LinkedIn | The LinkedIn connection stopped working, or its yearly authorization ends soon; shown to company administrators |
| Mailbox sync paused | A Reply-To Mailbox failed to authenticate 3 times and automatic inbox sync was paused; shown to CompanyAdmin users so they can fix the mailbox |
| System notices | Subscription status changes, warnings |

## Actions

### Mark Notifications as Read

1. Open the Notification Panel.
2. Click **Mark All as Read**, or click an individual notification to mark it read.

### Open a Notification

1. Click any notification to open it.
2. You are redirected to the related resource (e.g., a WhatsApp conversation, an email thread).
3. The notification is marked as read automatically.

### Delete Notifications

1. Open **All Notifications**.
2. Select notifications with the checkboxes.
3. Click **Delete Selected**, or **Delete All** to clear everything.

## Notification Privacy Rules

- You only see notifications for resources you have access to.
- Notifications from other tenants never appear in your notification center.
- If your access to a contact or mailbox is removed, you stop receiving notifications for it.

## Errors, Messages, and Common Fixes

| Issue | Why It Happens | How to Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Notification bell shows no updates | No new events or realtime connection dropped | Refresh the page and check the underlying module directly |
| Clicked notification opens nothing useful | Related resource was deleted or access changed | Open the target module manually and confirm access |
| Missing expected notification | You do not have access to that resource, or it was filtered by role | Check contact, mailbox, campaign, or assignment access |

## If notifications are missing

1. Refresh the page.
2. Confirm the underlying event happened in the related module.
3. Confirm you still have access to the related contact, mailbox, workflow, or campaign.
4. Check the full **All Notifications** page before assuming delivery failed.

## What happens if this fails?

- The original business action still exists in its own module even if the alert is delayed or missing.
- Realtime alerts may pause temporarily, but the full notification list usually catches up after refresh.
- If access to the related resource changes, the notification may stop appearing to protect data privacy.
