# 15. LinkedIn: Troubleshooting

## Errors, Messages, and Common Fixes

| Message | Why It Happens | How to Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| LinkedIn shows **Needs setup** in the Publishing Wizard | LinkedIn is not connected yet | Connect it from **LinkedIn → Overview** (see [15.1](/docs/connect-to-linkedin/)) |
| `The LinkedIn connection has expired. Reconnect LinkedIn to continue.` | The yearly authorization ended, or access was removed on LinkedIn | Click **Reconnect LinkedIn** on the overview |
| A Company Page is missing | The member who connected is not an administrator or content administrator of it | Give them the role on LinkedIn, then click **Refresh Pages** |
| **LinkedIn statistics aren't available to you** | Your plan doesn't include LinkedIn analytics, or you don't have "View LinkedIn analytics" | CompanyAdmin: click **See plans**. TenantUser: ask your company administrator |
| `This LinkedIn Page is no longer available to the connected member.` | The member lost their role on the Page | Choose another Page, or restore the role and refresh |
| `LinkedIn takes MP4 videos only.` | The video is in another format | Convert it to MP4 and attach it again |
| `LinkedIn polls can't carry images, video or documents…` | Media is attached to a poll | Remove the media or choose **Standard** |
| `Give the document a title…` | A document post has no title | Enter a **Document title** in the LinkedIn tab |
| `Give the article a title — LinkedIn does not read it from the link.` | An article post has no title | Enter the article's title |
| `LinkedIn did not confirm whether the post was published. Check LinkedIn before publishing it again.` | LinkedIn did not answer while a personal-profile post was being created | Look at your profile on LinkedIn first; retry only if the post is not there |
| `Your plan's daily LinkedIn publishing limit has been reached…` | The plan's LinkedIn limit is used up for that day or month | Wait, or upgrade your plan |
| `LinkedIn publishing is temporarily unavailable. The post will be retried automatically.` | LinkedIn is busy or rate limiting | Nothing to do; the post is retried on its own |

## If LinkedIn features stop working

1. Open **LinkedIn** → **Overview** and check the connection and Pages.
2. If it says the connection needs attention, click **Reconnect LinkedIn**.
3. Confirm your user still has LinkedIn access under **User Management → Data Access**.
4. For a failed post, open its **Failed** badge in **Social Media → Posts** to read the reason, then **Retry**.

## What happens if this fails?

- If LinkedIn stops accepting the connection, company administrators are notified and LinkedIn publishing pauses; queued posts fail with a reconnect message and can be retried after reconnecting.
- A post that LinkedIn refuses is marked **Failed** with the reason; nothing is published.
