# 15.3 LinkedIn Post Types

| Type | What you attach in step 2 | Limits |

| Text | Nothing | Up to 3,000 characters |
| Image | One image | JPG, PNG or GIF are sent as they are; other image types are converted automatically |
| Multi-image | 2 to 10 images | Images only — no video in the same post |
| Video | One MP4 video | 3 seconds to 30 minutes, 75 KB to 500 MB. You can choose a cover (a frame or a picture) |
| Document | One PDF, PowerPoint or Word file | Up to 100 MB and 300 pages; needs a **Document title** |
| Article | Optionally one image as the thumbnail | Needs the **Link** and a **Title**; LinkedIn does not read them from the page |
| Poll | Nothing (media is not used) | A question of up to 140 characters, 2 to 4 answers of up to 30 characters, and 1 day, 3 days, 1 week or 2 weeks |

For images you can add **image descriptions** (alt text) in the LinkedIn tab; screen readers read them aloud.

Documents can only be posted to LinkedIn. If a document is attached, keep only LinkedIn selected in step 1.
