# 11.29 Activate and Deactivate a Workflow

- **Activate** (play icon on the **Workflow List**): confirm, and the workflow starts reacting to its trigger again. Status becomes **Active**.
- **Deactivate** (stop icon): confirm, and the workflow stops reacting to its trigger. If runs are still in progress, you choose:
  - **Stop now:** cancels the running runs immediately.
  - **Wait for completion:** no new runs start; status shows **Deactivating** until the current runs finish, then **Paused**.

Deactivated workflows keep their history and can be activated again at any time.
