# 7. Settings and Profile

## What This Feature Does

The **Settings** page is where you manage your own account and, if you are a CompanyAdmin, your company's identity. It has two tabs:

| Tab | Who can use it | What it holds |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Profile** | Everyone who signs in (CompanyAdmin and TenantUser) | Your photo, name, job details, phone numbers, locale, time zone, email signature, notification preference, and password. Also shows your account activity. |
| **Company Settings** | **CompanyAdmin only.** Other users see a card titled **Company settings are restricted**. | Company name and activity type; the **Business Profile** the AI assistant reads (about the business, logo and colours, voice, reach, free-text instructions); the **What the assistant has learned** review list; and **Third-Party Tokens** for integrations. |

> A TenantUser who opens **Company Settings** sees: *"Only CompanyAdmin users can update the organization profile and integration tokens."* This is expected, not an error. Ask a CompanyAdmin to make the change.

## How to Open Settings

Click your name or the **Settings** link at the bottom of the left sidebar. The page remembers the tab in the address (`/Profile?tab=company`), so refreshing the page or sharing the link opens the same tab.

## How Saving Works on This Page (read this first)

Most "my change did not save" questions come from these rules:

1. **Every card has its own Save button.** Saving one card never saves another. The cards that save separately are: *Profile*, *Security* (password), *Company Settings*, and *Business Profile*. Edits you typed in a card you did not save are lost when you leave.
2. **The profile photo saves instantly**, the moment the upload finishes. You do not need to press **Save Profile** for it.
3. **Unsaved-changes warning.** If you edit the Profile, Company Settings, or Business Profile card and then try to close the tab, reload, or navigate away, the browser asks you to confirm. Press **Save** first to keep your edits.
4. **Save buttons lock while saving.** After you click, the button shows **Saving...** (or **Updating...**) and cannot be clicked twice. The page then reloads with a green success message or a red error message at the top.
5. **Tokens and memory actions save immediately.** Activating, deactivating, removing a token, or accepting/dismissing an assistant suggestion happens as soon as you confirm. There is no Save button for these.
